The Story of John Iampieri
Master Screen Painter John Iampieri has been hand painting screens for businesses and homes for decades. Influenced by the traditional methods of Baltimore screen painters, his work has been exhibited throughout the United States from Hawaii to Key West to Canada. John’s screens have been in feature films, TV commercials, magazines, and newspapers. In addition to sharing the history, tools and techniques used in this art form, John strives to teach others how art can express so many meanings. In 2010, John’s successful screen painting workshop at Pocomoke Middle School was included in a feature on “The NBC Today Show,” with Ann Curry. In 2015, CBS Sunday Morning Show featured notable Screen Painters, including John, and highlighted the history of Screen Painting in Baltimore.

Iampieri, owner of Bella Designs in Bishopville, Md., has been hand painting screens for over twenty years! In that time, he has produced more than 3,000 feet of screens – that’s how much his collection would measure if they were stacked upon one another. His work adorns both homes and businesses in the U.S. and World Wide – from popular restaurants to 45-foot screened-in porches. Yes, you heard that right – we ship worldwide!
